Hey guys, I just purchased a 96 CE vette. First vette I've owned in 9 years. Got a GREAT deal on this car, but I have a question about the brakes. I was driving slow and heard a rattle of some sort coming from the front when I hit a bump. But when I would hit the brakes it wouldn't make the rattle. After checking into it, when the car is sitting, no pressure on the brake calipers, they move a little, thus causing the rattle I was hearing. The car stops great and the calipers are tight, but what would make them a little loose? Any help would be greatly appreciated...
The pins that hold the calipers to the caliper mounting brackets are wear items and should be replaced with the brake pads. Maybe they weren't replaced and are allowing for wiggle-room?
