Compression Test, What do you think?
I have an 87 L98. Completely stock with 58,XXX miles. I get a puff of smoke on startup, so I am thinking the valve seals are bad. Other than on startup, I do not get smoke at any other time. When I pulled the plugs, they all had some oil on them.
I performed a compression test and these were my results. Please tell me what all of you think. Thank you.
1 - 178
2 - 180
3 - 183
4 - 187 - highest
5 - 180
6 - 175 - lowest
7 - 184
8 - 177
Only about a 7% difference between the highest and lowest, so that seems fairly good to me. Any input is appreciated.
