random interior light question

Default random interior light question

every once in awhile my interior lights will stay on, the ones in doors, back and mirror. i cannot get them to go off, then a random day they will go off. it keeps happening, two days they will stay on or so, then will go off for weeks and then it just happened again. any ideas?

I just had that problem in my '94. It was a faulty door ajar switch on the passenger side. I found it by pushing the button in by hand. When I did so, the lights would go out. Then I closed the same door, and the lights stayed on. I swapped it out, and the problem is solved. The part was still available from GM and cost about $16.

If that turns out to be your problem, follow the recommended replacement procedure, or you will end up pulling the door panel. Ask me how I know...
