Tuning for high altitude???

I'm looking to buy a '93 LT1 Vette from a guy in Denver, CO. He says it's tuned for high altitude and would need to be re-tuned (I live in Seattle, which is at sea level). Anyone know what this entails and whether or not I can do this myself or what I should expect to spend? Can you even tune for high altitude?Thanks, Anthony

That sounds like a load of BS unless he's converted it to a carbed setup. That's what the MAF sensors and MAP sensors are for.

I also have a 93 which we bought down in LA. 3 1/2 years ago, and we live here in Utah right in the mountains about about 8000 ft. The car has had no modifications or anything done to it and it starts and runs great just like it did in LA. Just thought you might like to know.... :cheers:

Bob,
I am a neighbor of yours. Where the heck are you at 8000 feet? Powder Mountain condos, maybe? I am at about 4500 ft.

I'm at 7,100 ft, the only different thing I do between this house and the one at 1,300 ft, is 2 octane higher at altitude.
