I have a DRM roll bar in my '86. It went right in and tightened things up a good bit. You can't store your targa top with this particular roll bar, and doubt you could with any of the others available. If you click on my forum name, you can access some photos taken at Carlisle this year. There's a good shot of the back to give you an idea of how much room you have left.
I know its slightly off subject, but i installed my own roll bar setup (6 point) in my 88 coupe....My BIGGEST concern was to get the targa top to store in its original location....I ended up making outrigger pieces for the rear (directly above axle) to move the rear bars out a few inches to clear the top. Im glad i did it the way i did. After the outriggers and bars were all welded, i foamed up the hole, then fiberglassed over it. I installed sound deading material in the entire car, but i havent done the carpets yet. Once the carpet is in, you wont be able to see or even feel the brackets i made up....
Total cost? About $200.........Total labor? About a week......But im happy as hell with it...

There was a company that built a roll bar that you could store the targa top. I can't remember the name of find the site yet. It shouldn't be too difficult. Just configure the rollbar to avoid the targe when mounted (e.g. widen and/or move rearward the rear bar mount locations.
I'm going to get a custom bar made since I want a removable/swing side bar. For some reason most, if not all, the roll bars available don't include this.
