you have a CS-130...many early 90's GM cars (big oldsmo/buick/etc) have CS-144 alts with higher output/better cooling, visit your local j-y and pick one...will not be a direct bolt-on but with a lucky pick (or a bit of observation before harvest) you will only need to narrow one lug on the CS-144 (takes abt 4 min with a hacksaw) and it will fit...all CS series alts (110, 130,144) are wired the same internally and your vette harness plug will work, power lead (the big red one) may have minor issues but slight rework will get it on...rear alt brace must be fabricated...serp belt length same as oem...expect trouble if you try to "clock" a CS alt, "new" mfg methods no longer give proper internal alignment if original case halves are re-oriented.

.....thanks for the reply...is the case size the same?...if so, what about gutting a blown out cs-130 and taking the guts out of a cs-144?..will it fit?

I've bought and installed CS-144. I've bought it here:
http://www.alternatorparts.com/CS-144_Special_offer.htm
I took 140 amps.

Some grinding was necessary to make it fit, but not much (pic3).
I also upgraded to thicker wire.

Some grinding is required here

144 is a 130 on steroids, bigger and heavier...check Sliding pics...i have not tried a 144/130 guts transplant, suspect differences due to output ratings...btw, cs-110 (found on early 90's mid-sized GM) is smaller diameter and lighter weight than 130, if those features are important, lower output of course.

You're welcome!

I can't tell you for sure about rear brace because I don't have it on my car. I took it off when I installed headers and never put it back on.

I installed two new (thicker) wires. One goes from alt to distribution point
that is located under the battery. Other goes from that distribution point to the battery.

...that's where i thought it went but, it's been a long time since i've looked....i have 5-6 kits to upgrade the older style alts from approx 60i to 100i in my garage but, since i don't use that style in any of my cars, i really don't need 'em.......when i did that conversion, everything was the same and fit well.......
