Default Help finding Injector Technical Info

In this thread ( http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2116307 ), I found this post:

The min pulse rate for the stock injectors is 1.59 ms, the new injectors will run linear down to 1.05 ms (Bosch type II and III). The ECM is compensating (in the loaded bin program) at lower injector ms for a non linear stock injector (leaner at lower ms), so when the new ones are installed they are linear to a lower ms. Ecm/Eprom is still adding more fuel at lower ms. Thats is why you are rich at idle and off idle.

I've been looking around the net for this kind of injector technical information and, although I've found some (Yes, I've read the stickies, visted injector vendor sites, and searched this forum extensively), I can't seem to locate many articles that get down to this kind of technical detail.

Of course there is a plethora of generalized info out there, but where do you find factual data stating stock injectors have a minimum pulse rate of 1.59 ms, where as Bosch type III’s will run down to 1.05 ms. Did I just miss it?

If you have any web sites squirreled away that point to detailed injector technical info, would you mind sharing the wealth?

Why not be the first to ask the question you want an answer for??? I'm sure Jon at FIC would be more than happy to get technical with you.

I've found this site pretty helpful:

http://www.witchhunter.com/

There's a lot of techinical data posted, and the guy who runs it seemed very knowledgeable when I last spoke with him.

Re Saturated Injector voltage offsets and low PW compensation, some general
tech info was listed here - see the references in post #3:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1867724
The 'Wells' articles are very useful, IMHO.

Re actual injector fuel flow latency, it's a fuction of the coil inductance and the
armature design. Mechanical resistance may also enter into the measurement.

1. Best thing to do is find actual manufacturer specs - those are difficult to locate.

2. The guy in one reference above came up with his own rig to test injector latency
times. (see the Turbo-Buick Thread - note he worked at NASA)

3. With a bridge, I suppose you could measure the actual inductance of the
injector, then apply the saturation equations to look at typical coil times.
They would get you in the ballpark, anyway.

4. GM and Delphi offer some of their annual SAE papers for free download. For example,
one here has laboratory information on injector spray performance and pulse width offsets:

Main page http://delphi.com/news/techpapers/

That level of tech detail is sort of beyond the scope of this board, IMO. HTH
