Default Broken or dead wire on tail light assembly.

When I was replacing the power antenna on my 94 coupe I removed the tail light assemblies and accessed the antenna through the openings on the left side.

The inner tail light assembly had a thin black solid copper wire with a white stripe running along the insulation anchored to a post on the bottom of the assembly. I am not sure where the wire went. It came out of one of the harnesses.

When I was putting everything back together I found the wire was hanging loose. It was either broken or had not been connected to anything. The end looked like it had not been connected for a while. There were no connectors, terminators or tape on the end of the wire.

Everything seems to be working OK.

Anyone have any idea of what it is for or where it should go?

Black with white trace is usually a ground wire....not sure where the other end would go. If you find something isn't working down the road this may be a first place to look.
