Gas Gauge Question
Greetings all. I am new to Corvettes and I just picked up an '86 and the gas gauge reads "full" all the time. The "range" indicater seems to function fine. Are there two sending units for these or could it be an electrical issue with the cluster itself?

Your in luck! I was playing around reading way older posts when I found this:

My 1990 reads full for quite a while then falls quickly. I'm guessing mine doesn't come off full until about half a tank.

Had that problem myself. I just sold my extra fuel sending unit/pump. My problem was the cluster had a broken solder in it so it would read full all the time. 100 dollars and 2 days later, it worked excellent. Right down to the last gallon.

My gauge used to read full all the time until I had the cluster rebuilt. Now it reads full when full and 1/2 when empty. So I use the mileage to determine when to fill up. I will replace the sending unit when the pump tanks.
