Hood is stuck
I took my hood off to do some major surgery. Tonight i tried wrapping things up and put the hood on, it was unaligned but i tightened down the retaining bolts and dropped the hood anyway. I am a vette newbie, but now the passenger side will NOT come up. It will shimmy up and down but its almost like that side is now stuck closed. Any idea how to loosen the retainig bolts with the hood closed or a way to get this thing open? Thanks!

are you sure your cable is not stuck? They sell a tool to release the hood wth but what i did was got a piece of steel rod (fairly small but still strong) and you put about a 90 degree bend in it. slide it in and try to catch the latch it pulls back and chould release it is a pain and will take a while to get it.

If you can't get that tool to work, remove pass. tire and your inner fender wells and using a long screwdriver or something to shift the latch.
A pain, but it is the only other way. BTW this will happen to most C4 owners
