I think an engineering degree and an in depth knowledge of fluid dynamics and the assciated math is qualificaition enough. OH, and combined with years of providing specifications for motors, not picking parts off the shelfs, is highly qualified.
Deakins isn't the only engineer on this board there are others as well and I'm a electrical engineer, only I didn't design airplanes. I spent 25 years designing complex processes and control systems to control the processes for pulp and paper mills. I am responsible for killing and destroying millions upon millions of tons of trees all so that you can write on paper, wipe your butts and eat off of paper plates during a Corvette cruise in

There you go Deakins himself conceded to the fact that experience can help you arrive to the same conclusions as theoretical knowledge.

Thinks of it this way:

-Theory is what "should" or is "expected" to happen

-Experience is what "DID" happen

So before you go and step all over the experienced guys like me or even more experienced like TJ for lacking the "theoretical" knowledge you feel is necessary to comment on a topic, think again.

Most people would rather have their engine builder say it WILL make this much HP from experience rather than it "should" make that much power due to calculations.

If your thread was locked, then you shouldn't have started a new one.

Note: Jsup if AFR is mentioned, just relax man! This thread isn's about you. This thread is for learning purposes.
This is not the way it's done on the forum. If you don't want replies from various members, then I would recommend that you PM or e-mail the ones that you do want input from.

Also, calling out a member is not acceptable, and should be avoided in the future.

This forum rule needs to be revisited:

Personal attacks/hostility toward others
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The Forum should be a place where we treat one another with civility so that it remains a fun and friendly place to hang around with other Corvette enthusiasts. Hostility to others is rude and inappropriate.

Personal attacks cannot be tolerated. Attack ideas, not fellow Forum members.
If your reply is missing, that is an indication that it was not consistent with forum rules, and such comments should be avoided in the future.

The forum doesn't need the drama

I don't need anyone else's input either.

If there is any further name-calling, hostility, or disrespect towards any member in here, future threads of this subject will be locked and those offenders will be permanently removed from this site. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. If I have to explain what that means to anyone, they too will earn a vacation.

This is a FINAL warning...heed it well.
