Plain and simple which sounds better? I am looking for a deep tone.
I think YOU are the only one that can answer that question. Exhaust sound preference is a very personal thing. I love the sound of my Corsa system, but I don't think I'd describe the sound as "deep".
The best thing is to try to listen to the various systems. Corvette shows are a great place to do this. Good luck!
I'd say it's personal preference. I have the Borla Challenge system and it has a deep sound but lots of people seem to think it's to loud. I'd say listen to a few and see what you think. :seeya

Re: Corsa Or Borla? (mothersworry)
I'm running the borla on mine and it does sound good. The corsa has a more rasy note and sounds deeper and meaner. I'll be switching out to a Corsa before to long.
Also this is for ZR-1's, not sure how much different it sounds on LT1 cars.
I don't have any personal experience with Borla, so I don't know how they sound. But I can tell you I really like the sound of the Corsa and an added bonus is you can install them yourself in about two hours with a friend and a six-pack of adult beverages! One & a half hours if you have access to a lift. The quality and fit of the Corsa is hard to beat.
But, all that means nothing if you're not satisfied with how they sound. As said before listen to as many different systems as you can, then make a decision.
I also agree with the Corsa. It sounds deep and throaty to me on acceleration but at cruising speed it does not. I think the Borla is to loud at constant cruise speed and after a while is not as pleasant to drive long distances.
Borlas are underneath mine. I LOVE THEM :D regarding resonance, believe it or not: a lot of it is due to gearing. I had 2.59's and the drone was awful...not to say the mufflers we're to blame. Once I had switched to 3.45's the resonance was gone. I modified the hangers to stick them a little higher under the bumper. Stock was a bit too low.
No resonance, quiet at cruise, bark at full throttle, the best of all worlds, and 1st class build quality.
1 tip on each side is fake though and as such you end up with one tip always turning black on the inside, it can be wiped out periodically but this is my only complaint.
Like some others have said, you need to find someone in your area that has each kind and take a ride. Exhaust note is a very elusive factor to judge without hearing it in person.
I made my decision when I still had FlowMasters on the car. Went for a ride in 2 ZR1's, one had the (then new) Corsa system, the other had Borla. There was a third ZR1 there that had BB TriFlows. Another had PowerEffects. It was a really good way to hear the differences between the systems.
The TriFlows sounded the best from the outside, but the interior resonance kills you. The Corsa's were the next best from the outside, with virtually no resonance inside the car (even with headers). Corsa seems to be the only people to figure out how to eliminate the resonance problem with an easy bolt-in exhaust system. All the other manufacturers don't even address it, and many of our Corvette bretheren have had to spend serious $$$$'s to experiment until they found something that worked (cross-pipes, resonator eliminators, etc).
Corsa customer service is top-notch. They were really interested in my application for their LT1 system (since it is on an L98 car) and wanted pictures, techniques, problems, etc. so they could guide others if they wanted to try it as well. The construction is first-rate, but then again so are B&B and Borla. The only thing that would have been nicer was to have the entire system polished like B&B's. I asked Corsa if it was possible (it is for an additional $700), making it a bit too pricey for a car that I race more than I show.
You should see peoples faces when I come off the track and they find out this car has a full exhaust system WITH cats!!!!
I would think that if you visited with your local NCCC club, you should be able to find examples of all the aftermarket systems. Our club has over 200 members, and I can tell you there are examples of just about every aftermarket modification there is for a Corvette. Besides, most of us NCCC guys (and gals) like to sit around, bench race and drink beer....know anyone else like that?
Well, exhaust is definitly a personal thing. The reason I like the Corsas is the resonance (or lack there of). I have a B&B on my car and just cruising around will give you a headache!!! My car is obviously not the average car, so I don't know what they sound like on a near stock car though. :)
We just received another pile of the Corsa exhaust system for stock for the C4. Our last sale made quite a few people happy, so I would be more than happy to extent that for a little longer into the new year.
Give me a ring for details. :yesnod: :yesnod:
