In my quest to cure, I decided to take a closer look at my throttle body. Is there a valid reason to run coolant thru the throttle body or should I just do the bypass while I have it off? Curiosity has also bit. I took the top plate off just to look, and well, I wont tell what I found. Rather I ask, what flows through that section of the body, air? I thinks it need a good cleaning.
Coolant runs through the throttle body to keep ice from forming at colder, winter temperatures. Obviously, this is a non-issue if you only drive the car during summer months.
Yes, air goes through the top chamber. I think it is called clear or clean air. There is a tube that goes from there to the passenger side valve cover. How clear or clean air gets so dirty, I don't know.
psssst...I think it was a good excuse to put different plates on there that say, "Tuned Port" and "Grand Sport". The rest of us in between....just blank.

should I just do the bypass while I have it off = yes
I thinks it need a good cleaning = yes - do it bi-annually as normal maintenance.
