I have a clunk on the left rear side of the car. The bearing seems loose on that side, so it's getting changed.
I pulled the half shaft, and the u joints slip out with hand pressure. You can feel a slight lip inside the ujoint yoke hole. Can these be repaired?
I realize the joint won't fall out because it has clips, but the extra clearance can't be good.Someone sugested Permatex loose fit bearing adhesive, but this seems like a temporary fix at best.
The problem isn't with the ujoint. It's fine. The problem is with the holes on the halfshaft that hold the ujoint. The've opened up a bit and the ujoints are now a slip fit instead of a press fit. Can this be repaired?

I'd try a to press a new joint in to see if it was just the old U joint cap that got wollered out. I don't know it it would be worth repairing or not.
Well I think your going to need new half shafts and / or yokes...try the C$ parts section. Those things must have been banging around for a long time then?
