Default Another new problem ....Third brake light bulbs ....are special ?

Yesterday i found that one of my 4 bulbs of the third brake light is not working,so i thought i will replace them all.-
Took off the cover and i saw which type of bulbs i saw this :

This are the same used on the sides.-
i took them off and i found out that they were adapted, they put little copper cables as terminals on each end, they ends were bent and they put this copper terminals on it,i try to do the same, and i couldn't.-
I Went to Midamerica site, and find out that the correct bulb is this :

Is this a hard to find bulb ???????
why they adapted the normal bulbs to make them fit there ?
i can't understand that !
i will buy the replacements from Midamerica if i can't find the right ones on the local stores ...
wow...strange ...

The correct light that you found is a mini-halogen bulb that usually sells for between 7 and 12 dollars. I would guess the previous owner was cheap and modified a side marker bulb to fit. Your 3rd brake light will be bright like it should be now.

When these burn out it's good to catch them quick and replace them - if you don't replace them the remaining ones tend to have a shorter life.

NAPA has them if you don't want to order online and pay shipping.

Used in desk lamps
Look in lighting /houseware dept of any big homeware store ,
not auto.

Default bulbs

I got mine at home depot for $1.85, and when I went back, they had upped them to $4.99.
Malibu light bulbs. Sure beats the $12 you find at CSK.

Stock : 8W X 4 = 36W

44 extra watts !
Im afraid to toast something or fry something,i don't want to do that

Here we have small lights in our yards that run off a D.C. transformer. That you can get at home supply store low voltage type. Malibu lites they are called here. Just made of plastic and are cheap.
