Wondering if any of you guys have installed a in dash cd player.. Need to know if you can just install a regular cd player. My car is an 84 crossfire.. Any suggestions
not if your car has the bose speakers. the stock system works with an unamplified head unit and amps in each individual speaker box...aftermarket head units are amplified and meant to be unsed with unamplified speakers.
That being said, there are gadgets you can buy to make an aftermarket unit work with your stock speakers...but i would just suggest ripping out the rear speakers and getting new ones to go with your new headunit....6x9's fit nicely...the door speakers are a bit more of a PITA and i still haven't dealt with them.

You will be happier if you just replace everything. If you go to the Audio section of the forum, there is a C4 sticky at the top of the section with alot of info on changing out your radio.
Kool... How much of a PITA was that double din head unit to install? Any modifying the plastics?
I have the same head unit..it is a fine unit...I've had no problems with it over the last ~ 4 years or so...it will fit but it is really tight on the sides of the benzel. The unit fits with no modifications but again it is tight....the "detachable face" pulls off at an angle and slightly hits the benzel...it will go on and off with just a little extra effort on your part.
I'm not sure why his gear selector/shifter **** is on backwards though?

Reason: backwards knob

No hassle at all. It plugged right in. I had a pro do it. The amps in the cargo area and required some work. The speakers went right in but the wiring took some time. I just looked around for a good price and a free install.

Yeah, I was looking at the wood and I did a double take at the shifter and thought that you might have done that on purpose to clear the radio or something, good looking dash add-on! Love that Momo wheel.....did you have to get a new hub for it to work?

Yeah, you have to change the hub. I screwed up when I put the **** on. I didn't realize that I put the shift **** on backwards until I drove it. Thanks for the compliment. My dash was faded and I hated the breadbox. The Momo wheel is smaller and sportier looking.
