Help me? changed shifter but how do u wire it???
I have a 86 vett a/t The car will not start while in park but u pull it back towards reverse it will start, When u go to shut the car off while in park it will stay runnin, I have to pull the shifter back towards neutral then it will die.?
I replaced the shifter with a b@m megashifter an noticed the electronic switch on the stock shifter.
? How do u bypass this an wire it to make the car start an stop?

I installed one in my 1988 Formula 350 when I had it. There are a few possible things to check.
1) Did you adjust the cable down at the tranny..if not; it will throw the position of gear select out of whack.
2) Did you get the extra switch from Radio Shack as suggested in the instructions...not supplied with the kit.(car will start in any gear without it)
3)Have you adjusted the 2 micro switches that are bolted together...had a heck of a time in that if not adjusted properly to the shifter; my back up lites stayed on..had to wiggle the shifter to disengage ...when I readjusted the micro switch to rid the problem; the shifter had to be moved just slightly back in the park position for car to start. It took a bit to adjust both problems out.
This is all I can think of now...its been quite a while ago.
