Ok,SES light blinks as fast as a spark plug....
.I pulled the Coil and the red and white wires are melted touching the coil,ok new coil, hook it up and hit the key it freakin'melted the wires on that too!!!!!!!!!
.I read the instructions that came with the coil and it says I need a seperate ground from the coil body to the middle plug,ok,so I made one up hit it and I can watch the spark going to ground when the car is running.I pulled the ground from the plug started it up and can watch a wicked light show of constant spark.I pulled the rotor and replaced the ballast.I cannot see how an ignition module could do this or even a pick up coil and I have NOT replaced them but am I wrong to think this has to be an ignition problem that HAS to be within the distributor???????For the love of Christmas WHAT am I missing??????I started the car today for kicks and I had to go buy a battery,,the other was was flat only 2 years old too..........hmmmmmmm please help me get my mind back....what am I missing....???????????????
From my experience. SES light bling quickly when approaching the red zone just before shifting.
Nothing to worry about but it could be caused by bad sparks or bad spark wires. You might have a bad electric mass draining volts somewhere.

I am sure this is the missfire but where do I look???
Wires melt because they are carrying too much current. Something is shorted or not wired correctly.
Try putting spaces between your sentences.
priming pressure is 34 - 39 psi on an '85, and at idle it will be approximately 8 psi below whatever your priming pressure turns out to be.
about the fuel pressure for an 85. Every coil I've bought for an HEI comes with a ground strap (just a little metal strap)! better read the directions.Just curious what your alternator shows on the dash? How much is it charging?
