Transmission Knocking?!!

Hey guys I got an '95 LT1 w/ Auto Trans w/ bout 120K on tach...The Trans shifts with no problem thru every gear and no knocking noise while driving..I only feel the knocking by my right leg when I'm turning while taking off normally..Anyone?

I had a truck with a 700R that started clunking/rattling alot until the torque converter went into lock-up. 'Replaced the converter - no more noise.

been thinking to get a better stall converter anyways..maybe this will be my winter project to replace the converter and rear diff gear upgrade as well...the Transmission shifts smooth like it should..when at the hard acceleration theres no knocking..accelerates just fine..I always notice the knocking only when turning right or left and pushing on the gas pedal while moving..feel like I'm hitting the ground or something..

not the trans.
Check the bearings or u-joints

It may not be the trans based upon your description. It could be as simple as a broken exhaust hanger

yeah I'm gonna do some inspecting when I get a chance to jack the car up...About 3-4 months ago I installed the whole chamberred exhaust system..prior to the install one of the studs on the driver side is broken off holding the manifold and the Cat together..only 2 studs are holding now..I will get new Headers and new cats to replace the stock parts pretty soon..

Full chambered exhaust? Damn, that has to pretty loud!!
