Thought it would be a nice weekend simple project...clean the entire throttle body...you think i'd learn.
5 of the 7 torx-head bolts that hold the coolant passage to the bottom of the TB snapped. I soaked it thing in PB blaster (after I took the TPS off). Any suggestions to get this thing apart now? I don't want to pry too hard because i believe the entire assembly is aluminum.
I guess one of my other options is to simple by-pass the TB coolant lines all together. Pros and cons to that?
The torx bolts you are talking about are on the bottom of the TB and have nothing to do with the coolant flow into and out of the TB. They are for the IAC valve that controls air flow into the TB at idle. Chances are that someone took it apart in the past and did not use antiseize on the threads. The TB and IAC assembly ARE aluminum. Remove the rest of the torx bolts and then pry off the IAC assembly. If the heads of the torx snapped off, it should come off without too much of a problem. You should then soak in with PB Blaster for a day or two and then try to grab the snapped off bolts with Vice Grips and back them out. Your next option would be to drill them out. If you do this, don't use a hand held drill, you really need a drill press and a good vice to do this right. If you don't have these, then take it to a machine shop and have it done.
Good luck.....and when you put it back together....use ANTISEIZE on the threads.

That is not true. The coolant passage and IAC passage share the lower TB plate.
Here is what's left after you cut off the coolant passage from the lower TB plate.
