injector installation
Some basic tools you'll need though are a set of line/flare wrenches for the fuel lines fittings at the front of the intake and the fuel filter, in addition to the brake booster fitting at the plenum, a good 3/8" extension (for the lower runner bolts), a 10mm socket, and a good set of torx-bits (need T-40).
For the injector swap, you'll relieve the fuel pressure, disconnect the battery, remove the plenum, runners, TB (will have coolant in it if you haven't bypassed it yet), then the fuel rail attaches with 4 bolts to the intake base and then simply undo the fuel rail fittings and pry the old injectors and fuel rails out of the intake. You'll also need some new runner and TB gaskets while you're at it, as well as some new fuel rail o-rings.
It wouldn't be a bad time to bypass the TB (if for any reason, for ease of removal next time) and clean the TB thoroughly. You can also check your EGR valve for proper function - I found out my Code 32 was in fact the EGR valve by performing a vacuum test with my MityVac pump.
I have some of FIC's Bosch Design III injectors waiting to go in to replace my Multecs as they came highly recommended.
Good luck - its not bad at all,
Jonathan
