If you have the glass low enough there shouldn't be any inaccessible rivets. What is in the way of the last rivet?
The speaker box will be pretty tight against the panel, the dum dum is around the thing to direct the sound out through the grill. I can't remember now if you can get the box all the way out of the door with the regulator in there but I do believe it will come out with the regulator all the way up. Besides,, would Curly lie??

sorry i'm not too bright with this one, i don't want to do what we pay the shops to do and that is to force and yank it out without regard to proper dismantle proccesses

when you say regulator all the way up what does that mean? window all the way up?

i peel back the front of the weatherstrip and the fron rivets are accessable, the glass is in the way of the one closest to the door jam.

I'll try to be clearer, roll the window all the way up. This should allow you to get the speaker box out of the door. Once you have the speaker box out, roll the window down about halfway, you will see three 10mm nuts through openings in the inner panel. You will be able to tell the ones you need to loosen to move the glass a bit. LOOSEN these so you can get access to the last rivet. If you still can't get to the rivet then take one or two nuts all the way off so you can move the glass around a bit more. This should all become apparent to you when you get into it, if not, that's okay but it's time to call in some knowledgable help

Heck, that's minor! I had just gotten new tint, professionally done, and all was well until a week later. When it was okay to roll the windows down I did and drove around for a while. When I rolled them back up there was a neat little round hole in the tint on both windows. When I did the upgrade to the later regulators I had one small thing out of adjustment and it rubbed the hole in the tint while the windows were down. I fixed the adjustment and took it back for all new tint. Now, 4 years later the Illinois State Police have stopped me twice this year for tint and no front plate. Now I have no tint and I do have a front plate and I hate both.

Are "large flange" rivets really needed? I was planning on getting some 3/16" aluminum rivets from Autozone.

I'm planning on replacing my inner door handle, the rivets are 3/16" hole.

Oh, and do you guys have any opinions on aftermarket vs. OEM outer window sweeps? I know the OEM dry up and crumble, but I wonder if the aftermarket might stay pliable? The PO replaced the outer door seals on my 89 with some aftermarket pieces, and they still seem pliable. I plan on removing them when I get it painted, and was thinking of replacing them with OEM. But got to thinking how OEM will just crumble.
