Car has sat for 1 yr.,(ran good before it sat). Had lost key and had new one made from dealer. Batt. is new, Turn key and dash lights up. Everything looks tobe working (electrical) and I can hear the fuel pump come on, Try to start and all I can hear is a little click and it does not sound like its from the starter.
The clicking sound sounds like it is coming from down by the shifter. (I’ve try it in park and neutral). On the dash there is the word "security" lit up, when the door is closed it blinks, when I turn the key it stays lit. Thanks for any help, Ted.
Better check that the pellet resistance in the ign key is correct. Also, pull the stored error codes, that could tell you what is wrong. If the dash lights go out when you hit crank, then you have a discharged battery or poor battery cable connection. Next, jump the gear selector switch and try a crank. Unplug the 2 pin connector wire from above the steering column (remove driver kick panel) and with the key in the ign, measure the resistance across the wires from the steering column, it should be the same as the pellet. If over 4% from the assigned value, you may need new ign key or new ign lock which will have new contacts that make connection to the pellet.
