Driveability lately
'94 LT1 with 147K on chassis, six speed, with 20K on new engine and tranny.
The engine is doing a lot of missing and bucking lately. The problem disappears under hard acceleration and is less noticeable at 80mph.
At steady cruise the exhaust sounds like its resonating between two frequencies which can be almost eliminated by down shifting from 6th to 5th gear. (1600 to 2500 rpm)
Getting an occasional check engine light that goes out after a few minutes of driving, however, when light goes on at idle there is a momentary surge in idle.
Replaced plugs, plug harness, fuel regulator, and fuel filter.(FF @ engine install)
Fuel economy is excellent and mixture doesn't appear to be overly rich.
Considering an ignition timing issue or an oxygen sensor that went south.
This problem is driving me up the wall. Appreciate, "some been there done that" advice. Thanks in advance.
