Injector Confusion, plese help!!
I’m very confused…. :confused: I have read many posts about injectors and I cant figure out if these were a good purchase or not (I have them already). http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...823472&r=0&t=0 I know I have 22lb stock injectors but, I was told that these would be as good if not better than stock…. Please help!! :cry :cry :cry

I've read a long time ago about a respectable company in south florida, that's all i remember, that used ford 19# injectors with no problems. I installed 24# injectors rated at 45psi.....after the install i noticed very poor MPG (dropped to 10 city, was around 18 b4) and the smell of gas when having to idle for few minutes at traffic lights.....I had an adjustable fuel pressure regulator but hadn't had time to pick up fuel pressure gauge. After installing the AFPR and setting it to about 46 PSI with vacum off! I've regained MPG around 16 to 17 city now and the car runs a helluva lot stronger.

Those look like they will work fine. The key to injectors is to be sure that the resistance of the coil is compatible with the computer and the injector constant must be changed in the computer if the injector is more than 10% larger. Just bolting on larger injectors guarantees bad gas mileage and poor drivability.

Thanks guys!! I know from reading some posts that injector theory can and has gotten VERY difficult to understand at times and I’m not new to wrenching. I am new to the TPI setup and how it's controled by the computer (ECM)…
