Default 3rd brake light idea, help....?

I want get rid of the halogen bulbs and am thinking LED's

But what do I need to make the leds work? A circuit board of sorts, I dont know anything about them.

Why am I considering this? I want to eliminate as much draw as possible.

TIA

I don't have your answer but I too thought LEDs would make a good replacement for the CHMSL.

Maybe this will help:

If you come with something, take some pictures....

You need a rectangular piece of circuit board (holey board) that will fit in the rear of the middle stoplight and at least four high brightness LED's and a 680 ohm 1/2 watt resistor for each LED. You can hold the circuit board in place with some small pieces of velcro. I have supplied this stuff to several CFers cheap and they didn't know much about electronics and they successfully installed the LED's. LED's will outlast your lifetime. You can get everything you need except the high brightness LED's from Radio Shack. I can sell you some high brightness red LED's for what I paid for them, $1.25 each. You can see that I will become extremely rich!

Please forgive my ignorance but why make something up when a ready made replacement is so cheap?
