Discharge A/C for top end package

Discharge A/C for top end package?
Guys - for those of you who have done cam/heads, can anyone tell me if you had to discharge the A/C when doing the top end? TIA! :)

I pulled my motor out to have Cartek do my heads and cam but never touched the A/C.

You don't need to do anything with the A/C except unbolt the compressor from the block, and flip it over onto the radiator with hoses still attached. Just be sure not to pinch the high side hose too bad or you might cause a leak.

DO NOT DISCHARGE THE SYSTEM.
R-12 is more expensive than GOLD and that is what you have on your 93 unless you've had it converted to R-134.
You truly don't want to have it vacumned down and refilled with R-12 because of the expense.
