Default finished meziere instal, pics inside

Tuesday Nov. 4
ok so i am 30 min. away from installing my meziere water pump. only question is which wire under the hood is an accessory wire that i can use. i searched but came up with some info i couldn't make heads or tails of soooooo.... which one, and pics welcome , so ill finish these fine burgers and wait for some post, hopefully!

Today Wednesday Nov. 5
Ok so thanks for all the help, it took a little research and a couple of times reading the same stuff because im an idiot if i don't have pictures to look at! Wasn't sure wtf a relay was at first but hey learned some new stuff about wiring. so what i ended up doing was tracing the two pink with black stripe wires from the lower and upper fan to the two fan relays and back until right before the factory splice. From their i spliced in the positive blue wire to the pink with black stripe and soldered it. as for the negative i grounded it right under the splice where two other grounds already were. now for people that need pictures like myself here you are.

Meziere pump installed on the pump.

Now if you follow the two pink with black stripe wires from each of the fans they will bring you here to the two fan relays.

Following those two pink wires from the fan relays back until you reach this point, where they are spliced. Here on the main wire is where i spliced in.

Then i covered it all back up.

Then i mounted my Connector here on the back of the radiator shroud.

and thats it, runs great! thanks for everyones help! next up the dreaded headlight gear replacement, then on to the 1.6 roller rockers!

I used a wire off of the uppermost fan relay. It was one of the three that was on the side of the fan shround. Don't have a pic right now. It turns on when the key is turned into the accessory position which is how I wanted it. I think the wire was dark blue. Basicly, I took a multimeter and touched each contact on all the relays until I found one that had power on with the key turned halfway. Someone else was in the car turning the key on and off. I then ran that wire to the switch-on wire for the WP relay I purchased. Good luck this four hour job ended up taking me all day. Everything that could have gone wrong did. Cover the opti the best you can and drain all the fluid first. Start by taking off the accessory belt so you can get at all the pump housing bolts. Also remove the MAF, intake ducts, and all the hoses. Remember how everything goes back on. You may want to replace all the hose band clamps with screw type. Now is also a good time to replace the thermostat. Dont forget to pick up new water pump housing gaskets, where it mates to the block. There are thin moldings comming off the block that guide the pump housing. They may require you to wiggle it some when removing. The water pump housing seal was a bitch to remove. I had to pound on it for a good while with a 20lb sledgehammer and a punch. I also broke off the radiator drain valve. Remember all it should take is an easy 1/2 turn to open and close the drain valve. I left the mechanical drive shaft sticking out the timing cover for now, as you can see in the pic below. Removing the opti and timing cover would have taken me another day and i was pressed for time. My EWP works fine as far as it always running when it should, but I am now having other cooling issues that I need to post about. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2175291

Maybe you can do me a favor. When you install the pump take note of which should be the positive and which should be the negative to the EWP plug-in harness. I'm wondering now if I have mine flowing in the correct direction.

Don't mean to answer someone elses question. But, blue positive, black negative.

Why would you want to install an electric water pump? Not saying there's any thing is wrong with it but why?

Here is how I did it:

It's long, but the wiring is about the last third.

I got the signal for mine of the radiator fan relays.

They are supplied power when the key is ON, but only trigger the fans when the computer tells them to.

Keep in mind this relays have changed a lot over the years.

Road,

I didn't see where anyone addressed your question. I'm going to install one on the 396 (LT1) I'm putting together for my 92. One of the things I'm doing is replacing the single timing chain with a true dual roller. No one makes a dual roller for the LT1 with provisions for the water pump drive, then again given the LT1 timing cover, even the later thicker design, I don't think there would be room for a dual roller with the extra set of teeth for the water pump. Anyway since I decided to go with the dual chain I'm forced to go to an electric pump. I did a bit of research here on the forum and never came across anyone having problems with one.

Hope this helps...
