Default Upper intake question...

I have my throttle body off, and looked inside the ports on the upper (plenum) there are two protrusions, like rails going accross the bottom of the ports. Is there a purpose for these? Could those be ground out for increased flow? This is an 86 L98. Thanks for your input! :flag

When porting the plenum those two objects are ground flat with the floor. My porting method is on my site.

You can port the plenum and ground down the 2 walls behind the TB.

Not much performance gain though, I didn't gain anything.

I beleive the entire TPI has to be ported for any benifits.
