Hot bodied corvette....

I was hooking up my new battery with a disconnect.
While hooking it up, with the disconnect disengaged, the wrench bumped my side fender and SPARKS FLEW!
So I grabbed my test light and off I went testing grounds. How do I find out where the short is located? Or am I over reacting to a completion of a circuit? Anyone have with Ideas please respond!
Thank you,
~Dane

I was hoping there was an actual short tho, because when I accelerate agressively from a stop or cruising it hick-ups and bogs the more throttle it gets more it wants to choke. I'm going to make a spur of the moment call and say it's the fuel pump. I had 2 fuel pump problems before I started an over-haul of the interior. Zero psi, both times until my mom would come out and make a comment then it would fire right off... the first time took 9 hours, before starting and running at 45 psi.
