Dash display dimming and blinking
My 94 dash display backlight does not stay constant. It often dims slightly as if there is a drain on the electrical system. I keep the battery on a trickle charger when parked. Anyone else have this problem?

My 92 does the same thing. I've heard that a common cause of this is a slightly corroded ground wire from the dash, which intermittently changes the resistance, causing the fluctuations in illumination.

Not sure why either, but my 92 does this a lot. Seems to be worse when the weather is cold, but that could just be that I pay more attention to the guages when I have to wait for it to warm up before I drive it hard.

Turn your parking lights on and see if they are also doing the same thing, if they are then it's your regulator in the alternator. If not then it's probably a ground issue

My headlights don't blink unless the stereo's up too loud, but that's a whole different issue and a 1 farad capacitor on the battery will solve that one. So yeah, you're probably right about the ground. Someday maybe I'll rip open my dash again, but not anytime soon unless I have to. I'll just live with it until then.
