Default lt1 drivers side coolant drain plug

I'm having trouble getting to it, but can make it with a swivel. Anyone know the socket size?

Engine block drain plugs on Corvette LT1's are filled with the knock sensors. Are you running an F-body engine?

Yep, F-Body engine in my Z-28, LTI. I only have a knock sensor on the passenger side the driver side is a plug.

I tried to pull that drain plug out of a friends 95 TA, and stopped in fear I would break it off in the block.

Good Luck.

I have an F-body also. The plug is hard to get to and you do need to use a swivel. I can't remember the size but I remember using an open end wrench on it to gauge its size then try different socket sizes.

I warn you if this is the first time it has been taken off it will be extremely hard to get it off. spray PB blaster on it and let it soak. I did this for a couple days. I was able to get the plug off but the very end of the plug broke off in the block. I was stupid enough to look inside the whole while poking the broken end of the plug with a screw driver. Well the plug came off along with a few quarts of antifreeze. Luckily I closed my eyes in time.

Thanks for the advice. I sprayed it with Blaster. If it doesn't turn easy, I'll just leave it on.
