I looked at the video and went through it frame by frame, and I don't get it.
The fire starts form the radiator, and after the 'explosion' I can't make out WTF is ontop of the engine then??
I had an engine go bad on my back in Florida when I was in college, when we used NOS by manually timing the few seconds to run it and now (no real safety precautions then yet), and when I blew my engine, I had a little flame, then the carburator blew off the engine (literally). But not a large explosion at all.
Looked like a Nitrous Backfire, too bad the video is not better. Looks almost like they had some fuel puddled down by the intake and when it backfire, it got the fuel. There was probably no damage except to the intake box.
