I came across a set of racing wheels, yet the are 84-87 offset. I own and 88. Thus I was wondering if anyone has done this, because these are sweet wheels that wiegh less than 15 lbs. a piece! Any advice is greatly appreciated, and i know thwe real test lies within a mounted tire test fit.
Thanks a million,
Robert

I am figuring that would be the case, due to 7/8 inch offset differance. I am just a little concerned about the fronts rubbing the hood and possibly shearing a few chuncks of it away.
Take it easy,
Robert
BBA is correct, they will stick out instead of in. The suspension on and 88-up is wider than a 84-87 that is why the offsets are different. This is why the ZR1 wheel fits the 84-87 but if you bolt it on an 88 it sticks out an 11/2 on each side. Remeber the ZR1 was 2" wider.
Re: 84-87 offset wheels on an 88...advice (snaketr)
Fellow members,
Thanks for the advice! The wheels are 16x9.5 Hayashi racing wheels, that weigh 14lbs. each. So I am pretty excited to put them on due to the reduction in unsprung wieght. If there is any problem, I will most likely flare the hood a bit. The rears i a guessing will look sweet b/c the factory rears are in just a bit too much. I will post some pics when I get it done...that will be in a week or two.
Thanks a million,
Robert
