Yesterday I was talking to a 2009 ZR1 owner about my CE LT4 project. Few of you know all is off the car but the block (short block). He recommended me to think about buying a short block with all new parts, that it will be cheaper than to rebuild all current components. I was not planning into replacing or upgrading the bottom end.
How much, which one, where?
Here is a picture of what's hanging inside the engine compartment. It has 69,700 miles. 1996 Corvette, LT4, Collector Edition
Why replace the short block on such a low mileage engine? Are you making this car into a zero mileage garage queen?
Folks with a lot more experience than me already informed you that the gap in your cylinder bores was normal (and exaggerated by the camera angel) and not a concern....
Gonna have to send someone over to your house to rip that wrench out of your hand. . .. you are getting carried away....
"JIM........THAT"S THE CABLE TALKING!!!!" love that commercial. lol...
