Default L E 2-- Heads and Intake (Pictures)

Received the LE2 package from Elliot Portworks last Friday. I'd say Santa showed up early.

Heads, intake and cam (blue card). I do not remember who recommended me Elliot but, THANK YOU He has outstanding customer service, answered all my questions and provided me with all part numbers to complete my project.

awesome parts, I can't believe you're doing all that without pulling the engine out of the engine bay. Did you have to lift the engine up at all to remove the cam?

Looks like youre well on your way to getting it back together again. I do not envy your job of changing a cam in a C4.
Ill leave the next question to our Canuck friend.

I wonder if the intake cam specs are correct on the card. It has .050" at 223 degrees. Then the .006" specs are 288. That is a difference of 65 degrees. That is quite abit in this day and age. Maybe it should read 278@.006"?

I thought the hot cam was 218/228? Either way it should be a lot more powerfull then current set up.

Were new valves guides installed, or were the old ones reamed out to fit the larger valves?

No need to change guides or seats when going to a 2.02/1.60 in LT4 heads. Just re machine the setas and they are fine.

That is not a HOT CAM, it is a cam that will pass emissions as easily but make more power though.

The intake lobe on the cam card is rated at .004 duration (seat timing) and the exhaust lobe is listed at a more common .006 duration.

With both measured at .006 duration, it is 276/281 (same as CC 503 cam).

The lift on the cam card is measured with a 1.5 rocker. A 1.6 rocker brings the lift to .565/.565.

The blue dye on intake rocker bosses is to show what studs need sealant used on threads.

"The intake lobe on the cam card is rated at .004 duration"

Ok, that makes more sense. Nice set of parts which should do you well.

I love my LE2 setup. Its running great and the power up top is really incredible compared to the factory LT-1

LE2 porting for your LT4 should be hot!!!

Down the road, once I get most of this project off, my LT1 is next.

Dumb question- is there any writeup on how to do a H/C swap on C4's? I'm --->this<--- close to pulling the trigger, but I want to make sure I know WTF I'm doing.

I assume I have to remove:
Radiator, PS rack, and everything on the front of the motor. I already have a EWP, an ATI damper, and a new(ish) opti. Anything else that should be replaced "while I'm in there"? Oil pump and timing chain?
Is there a trick to keeping the lifters from dropping?
What about tuning? Every shop I call doesn't have LT1 edit.

Here's a great writeup on a camshaft install.
