I am very close to ditching the whole factory setup in my 94 LT1. I and concidering going XFI with a distributor and a racepack to replace the factory dash.
Anyone else do this before and if so got any advice?

Dude don't give up!
Aftermarket ECM's won't give the dash functions (expecially when needed for emissions)
Just give the fact. ECM .5v for O2 and the sensors.
LT1...an distributor won't work due to the EGR valve in the back....unless emissions no longer matter.
It's hard to believe that you are so bad off that the factory won't suport you...unless there are no reasonably sucessful tuners near ya.
he is running a very trick setup and the factory ECM at this point is a bandaid for him, he has like myself a turbo on the car and it is nothing like a blower that is RPM proportional regharding boost, this car will see boost pressure all over the place from various load in different gears so it really needs the abilty to understand boost and be able to adjust the fueling strategy as required.
