Default ZF Clutch removed

I finally removed the bell housing, press plate, clutch and flywheel. I'll do my best to get the new components up by COB Sunday.

Remember I mentioned that the tranny had a "humming" sound while at idle and it would go away if I press the clutch? Well, the fork was about 90% loose. Funny, that "screw" screws backwards.

Should I replace the clutch slave?

i see clutch replacement in my future! post more pics if you have them. Also i notice also when sitting at stop lights some times i hear a rattling noise comming from the tranny, but as soon as i depress the clutch pedal it goes away? If that is the fork, how do you go about adjusting it.

I just went through this myself recently. My problem turned out to be the fork ball stud locking bolt broke allowing the ball stud to self adjust. I put in a new clutch/pp/to bearing/pilot bushing while I was there as I don't want to do that job again anytime soon. I have lots of pics in my posts:

Nice pictures, and neat solution. I'm going to be doing that job myself in the near future. Not really looking forward to it, either. Those pictures sure help, the graphics in the Service Manual are a little vague.

I installed the clutch and put the tranny back up. The biggest challenge I had was to put the tranny on the jack. why? Because I don't have 6 ton jack stands. To place the tranny on the jack from underneath the Vette was bad. I had no problems with aligning the spline, the shifter or the beam.
