So who gets to whiff all the crap and unspent fuel your POS is spewing out your tailpipes ? Yeah, you got it, the unfortunate folks who get stuck driving behind you, but you don't GAF !!!

I am no tree hugger, but I do respect those who comply to emissions regulations. I have been to big cities in other countries who don't give a rats **** about emmission regulations. Trying to breath is like smoking 20 cigarettes in your mouth at once like that dude in the "ConeHeads" movie.....

So choke on that....

And you don't see the coincidence? How did you gut the cats? Did you make sure all the substrate was removed? Those are similar symptoms to clogged cats, unbolt the cat and see if you can see through it or if anything is lose in it. Heck you might have blown something further down into your exhaust somewhere now clogging it. Seems like an awfully big coincidence.

You have to check the codes before you make any assumtions or troubleshooting. Lets us know what it says.

Also the Mid america power coupler is junk. I bought two. When installed the angle causes a bulge in the thing right in front of the throttle body! It also lasted about 6 mo and is cracking really bad.

The reason Big cities suck is overpopulation, poor road layout, and there are no trees anywhere! Nobody has any business putting that many people in such a small area. Los Angeles is the perfect example of how wrong a town can go when money overrides common sense. Pushing the blame onto the sportscar enthusiast is not going to fix the problem. Perhaps you should consider why you are in an 8 lane highway sucking fumes for hours at a time? And move.

I would never gut my cats.... I have complete straight pipes instead!

Could be a problem with your MAF sensor.

No emissions in Florida bud. In gridlock traffic on the busiest most used road in my city, with all the old pos cars with rusted through exhausts, i can roll down my windows and smell nothing but Sea Breeze. You should consider relocating. I hope someday you get stuck behind me.

FUEL FILTER. Only replace it with the Delco replacement. The other store brands are junk! Trust me.

turns out it was injector related, it would only leak when i punched it but should be good now (says my mechanic) also explains the fumes i guess. Everything i replace is Delco if possible, fuel filter was too. thanks for advice

Must be nice to be in the tropics. I think it's great other people do the cat thing too, but I wouldn't openly brag about it - especially to friends. It IS illegal, afterall, but don't hate on the one guy who defends it to the point of being asinine. That's his opinion, and what do we say about those?

Opinions: They're like @$$holes, everyone has one and theirs is perfect.

Glad to hear you fixed the problem.

You guys are killin' me. You can get a nice exhaust note without removing your cats. Here's my C5 with B&B Bulletts, and cats still intack.
