Background: 95 6sp, 115k: had a problem when hot where engine would begin to cut-out and would finally stop. Let it cool-off for 45 minutes and good to go until hot again. Error code was a 16.
Replaced the ignition module, coil and OptiSpark. No difference. Finally shipped off PCM for repair. Came back 3.5 weeks later. Problem still present when hot. Installed another PCM when failure occured, engine ran fine. Re-installed original PCM, engine died after 5-6 minutes. Shipped PCM back for repair.
Auto Computer Exchange sent another PCM. Installed and engine ran great for 2.5 weeks. Upon engine dieing, the Security lite and Check Engine lite both came on and stayed on...engine died two minutes later and would not re-start. Error codes in the order they were reported out:
43: ESC Failure
42: ESC Timing Circui Grounded
41: ESC Timing is Open
36: Baro Sensor Low
48: Mass Air Flow System Failure
Engine ran fine in the morning after sitting all night.
I sent the PCM back for repair.
Question: Could there be something that is causing the PCM's to fail; voltage spikes from alternator???, bad grounds, ???? or is it ACE's quality of repair that BAD???
UPDATE: PCM came back...No problem found.....

I'm not sure how much '95 PCM's are, but maybe try getting a new PCM instead of repairing yours, and see if that fixes it?
I more or less did this with the borrowed one I had when the first PCM failed the second time. I also purchased a "new" one and awaiting its arrival. I will have to get it flashed somewhere of course before I can use.
I am still wondering if there is something within the car that could be taking out the PCM.
Received my ECM back from Auto Computer Exchange with the tag saying, "No Problem Found". Put it back in and will have to see how long before the car dies again.
Again, anyone have any ideas as to what else I could check?
Still waiting for the other ECM I purchased to arrive..after getting it reflashed, I will be carrying it with me.
I recently had a strange problem with my car and threw some parts at it based on what I read as the symptoms. None of them fixed the car.
I try not to post suggestions for symptoms but will recomend that you purchase a diagnostic tool. I bought a cable from andrew (http://www.akmcables.com/) and used the free diagnostic software from the carputing website and saw my problem imeaditly. Would have saved me over $500 in parts throwing.
