Fuel delivery question
I have an 85 vette and am going to a carb set up. My question is: Do I have to use an external fuel pump or can I use the factory and do I need a fuel pressure regulator? If I need a regulator what should I regulate the pressure at? It is a 355 with a mild cam. Also what would be the best place to mount an external fuel pump?Thanks.

If you reuse the original pump then you need a bypass reg that uses the stock return line for the bypass flow.
If you fit a ext carby pump then you can use a single fuel line with a carb 0-14 psi reg.

You can swap the pump itself with one for a TBI car (Camaro, pickups, etc.), lower operating pressure. Mounts and connects the same in the fuel gage assy. You will still need a pressure regulator at the carb, but the bypass side can dump into the existing return line in the car already, same as the TPI pressure regulator does. Use the existing fuel lines, and filter.
