Hello I have a 93LT1 I tried to start it today and it fired for 2sec and then died, then the tach started jumping around and I could hear a crackling sound from the injectors, it sounded like electricity and the fans kicked on . does anyone know whats going? I tryed to get any codes but I dont want to leave the ign. on because it sounds like something is frying. thanks for any info...Mike

Man...that doesn't sound good. I say maybe you got a sparkplug wire jumping or grounding to the block making that noise.
The wires have about 200 miles on them if that. It just started today
Well the reason I ask is that if the new wires were installed too close to a manifold or other hot item/s it would take only a short while to burn through the insulation ~200 miles....and jump the high voltage coil charge to the block....which would explain the weird tach readings, and the untimely ECM/PCM "on" commands. Maybe check the plug wires closely before firing it up again. Or wait 'til dark and pop the hood and watch for a light show when you crank it up.
Im sorry I should have told you the car won't start it fired up for a second or two then died, that's when it started making the crackling sound, just with the ign. turned on.
You have a short somewhere ...if the noise comes from the injectors
i suspect a short in some of the wires that goes there !
remove all of the injector connections ... then turn it on for a little bit (don't start it)
just put the key in ON and see if the noise is still there
Im sorry I should have told you the car won't start it fired up for a second or two then died, that's when it started making the crackling sound, just with the ign. turned on.
