Danah, you're close on the alignment. You want to add some toe IN on the rear. It will really stabilze the car in the corners and under braking going into corners. I use a minimum of 1/16" toe in, per side. 3/32" is even a better setting. These alignment settings are static. What happens dynamically is that the leading end of the tire wants to get sucked out when the car is going forward. Not so bad up front (though not ideal), but in the rear if you start out with zero toe, under load you will gain some toe OUT. Not good, not safe. The reason we run toe out in the front (for autocrossing) is that it really helps the car turn in. For the track, I run "0" toe in front. You may want to review this with your alignment guy. If you could feel a benefit from the installation of the camber bar, then you will appreciate the difference running some toe in on the rear suspension.
BTW fyi, if you get the car "aligned for racing", you would end up with effectively "longer" bolts when the shims would be removed to get more camber.
h rocks, thank you. I will get with the alignment guy on Monday and have it set up.
I have taken care of the bolt problem by adding 5" bolts to the top positions.
Maybe I should take it to another alignment shop, just to make sure it has been set correctly?

I used to run a lot with Akron Sports Car Club, [SCCA rules], Steel Cities SCCA, Tiretown NCCC and a number of others. I haven't done much AX-ing over the past two-three years, as I've really gravitated towards track events. ASCC really does a nice job of running the events. We used to always get six runs in. Now they are a victim of their own success. It's wildly popular and they routinely get 110-120 cars every event! So I think now usually they get in at least four runs, maybe five depending on the course.
Dave, I can't wait. I guess mine is running late because of the holiday Hope it gets here this week so i can install Saturday. BTW, I autocrossed quite a bit last year, but it was my first year. I wanted all the seat time I could get and made 29 events in AZ, CA, and NV. As per something H Rocks said about a year ago, I listened to the quiet guys who go fast! Here's the alignment I am using: Camber -1.5 front and -1.25 rear. That's all the negative camber I could get in front and that reduced my caster to 5.2/4.9. I run 3/32 toe in each side in the rear and zero toe front on the street. At the track, again per H Rocks, I add about 1/4 toe out on the front. I painted my tie rods so making the return to zero is easy. I get right at 1/4 toe out with slightly more than a half turn. I had the great guys at Network Alignment check it. It seems to work great. I hope the bar will improve it even more.
Dave, this weekend we really got a chance to try out the Chamber-brace. We got up on Saturday morning and decieded to go to Santa Brabara for breakfast. Just a little 6 1/2 hour drive down the coast. The chamber-brace worked wonders for the front end while driving on all kninds of roads and surfaces. The vette rode smooth and stright, I even used the cruise control for the first time in 4 1/2 years. I must say a really big difference in handling and control. It was the forst time I could relax driving the vette and not worry about every small hole or crack in the pavement. Again, job well done. Just my 2 cents worth.
Have you talked to Joe, at Corvette Express in Vacaville, ca. yet?
These were the two best investments I've made in my car. Installed the cross bar last week and the camber brace this week and it's like driving a different car...seperately and together they make a huge difference in the feel of the car. I havent taken the top off yet, that will be the true test...maybe this weekend :D
