Default Who does L98 intake/Plenum porting?

Hi All,

Who does L98 intake/plenum matched porting? I found folks that can polish L98 stuff but I can't seem to find someone reputable to port my intake and plenum. I can't/won't do it myself. I need experienced hands to do this for good results. Any recomendations?

Thanks
Lee

Being one who likes to maintain that "stock" look, I maybe interested as well having someone to do my factory intake and runners on my 87 TPI set up.

Ron is located in sunny southern calilfornia

aka cusinartvette is engineering and building my entire smog legal stroker motor yet to show a pictoral.

this will appear to be as stock as possible

this design is based on and around the L98 tpi configuration and should astonish, as soon as the hard numbers and sheets come in from the build.

at the very least give him a jiggle before you make any decisions, if he is unable to accomadate (very doubtful) he can point you to the right direction.

what ever you do, don't go with corvette mikes in california, some really horror stories

Thanks Mason and like yourself my 87 377 inch stroker with Edelbrock emissions legal cylinder heads is designed to be smog legal.
Living here in California puts us at a major disadvantage when it comes to engine modifications and what will pass the visual and snifter tests.
I had a nightmare with my El Camino and vowed not to go through that hassle ever again.
Now if I could just find a manufacturer who could build a legal set of headers with a EO# for my 87, I could really make this thing come alive.
At the moment the engine is out of the car after going through a complete rebuild and hope to have it running within the next few weeks.
Looking forward to seeing what kind of numbers yours produces and good luck with your venture.

Default L98 Plennum/Intake Porting

Take a look at TPIS @ www.tpis.com. They have many years of experience with TPI motors and upgrades.

Ron really likes it when you give him a jiggle. But if you're not into that kinda stuff, you can just give him a jingle. A jiggle, however, will get you a better price on the porting.

I agree..TPIS can handle this for you..may be pricy...you can also check with a reputable, local, machine shop/engine builder...they normally do a lot of porting work to performance engines and have all the necessary tools/know how, etc...

You can count on that.

i researched this till i was sick and frustrated, and is acutually starting to kill the build, with delays, set backs and restarts.

LT1 and LT4 shorty headers will fit as per member who actually fitted one, the bolt circle where it bolts to the downpipe is larger;

supposedly,

and i have theorized a smog tube configuration that may mimic air and exhaust behavior of the LT cars, but adapted to the L98 air and egr in/outputs.

pm me if you want to critique my idea.

the shortys are dougs and are shaped like the stockers only with bigger girth.

stay away from pacesetters and jba, although of high quality (the latter) another member has determined them to be clearance- issues prone

these will have 50 state executive order numbers, tags and certs

albeit 1.75 inches, still not easy and a royal
