Default 1986 Auto Climate Control trouble

If anyone can help me i have a 1986 Corvette and I just started having trouble with the auto climate control. At first sometimes i get heat sometimes I don't no matter what i have the temp set at it just blows could air and then I try later and sometimes I will get heat. Coolant system temp is all normal. Then today I decided to take the car for a ride and yet again cannot get heat so I tryed turning the temp down to 60 and back up because sometimes this will get me heat again but now its stuck at 60 . is this unit bad and the door in the dash possibly getting stuck? Any help PLEASE>

If you're saying the display is stuck at 60, the control is bad. Otherwise, you've likely broken the clip that connects the temp-control-motor to the temp door. It's a plastic clip that only $5 from a dealership.

The temp door arm (and clip) are located on the passenger side near the ECM.

If broken, the temp door with flop from side-to-side. I suspected hard turns were flopping mine around!

It's kinda "sticky" at max cold/hot though. Doesn't always flip that easy.

You might have to remove the hush panel to see it. (Mine is a little easier to see/observe because I'd also removed my breadbox).

My controller started to get funky, so I cleaned the electrical contacts in back. It's been 5 years without a problem since.

I had the same intermittent problem on my 87. Took out the ACC and cleaned it up. Still didn't work, so I bought a used one off of eBay and that works fine, $75. Still have the old unit. I didn't do the re-solder thing yet on the original unit. If the used ACC dies, then I'll try the soldering fix on my original unit.

Default same fix for my 90

I also took it out and apart and cleaned contacts and that fixed it. Just some time saved me money.
