Default VBP 32mm Sway Bar Install PROBLEM

I started on my install and i ran into a snag. I bolted up and started to tighten down and realize the clearance next to the shock is way to close. AmI doing something wrong? The driver side is about a 1/4 inch clearance but the passenger is damn near touching. The sleeve of the shock will hit it. Anyone do the install give me and ideas?

your problem is the bushings on the mounting brackets. Notice the off set of the bushing.

i surmise you can shift the bar over and achieve 1/8" clearence on both sides, 1/4" divided by 2

man that's close, what are you gonna run on the rears?

I had a heck of a time installing the 32mm VB&P front sway bar last year.

But the results are more than worth the effort!

I would advise you remove the bar and flip it over. The design/shape of the bar makes it difficult to see which is the proper orientation, but from the problem you've described that's the way I solved it during my install.

Good luck!

And you were corrected. I just finished I just had to flip it. Its not equal distance from the shock but its close enough. Its about 1/16 off so nothing to worry to much about. It still is pretty close to the shock.

I put on new rims and tires, 32mm sway,26mm sway, and lowered the back. I still have to get a 4 wheel alignment. Is there anything else I need to install? Before I head to the shop (Bump Stops, additional parts?)

I just got back from the drive and its def. a new vette. It feels so tight in the front end. I took about 90 degree bend doing about 35 and it held. I measured the back I'm sitting at 27 3/4 about on both sides. I go for tint tomorrow....

I had a lot of trouble installing my VBP 32 mm bar also, I tried flipping it without much if any change in the clearance from the shocks. Right now it is very close, looks like it would rub but it's been driving fine for almost a year.

Turn the bushings around.

I got the sports package in my 95 and the one for my Ce LT4 arrives today. 32 mm front, 26mm rear, bilstein HD, and off set bushings.
