I have an '89 vert with a GM Goodwrench vehicle security system. It is tagged: 8071A9COX, 014183A1X. I have asked on many other forums about the operation of this system but no one seems to know anything. It works just fine, but I want to make it flash the park lights when I arm or dissarm. Will I have to physically wire the light relay? Help! Thanks!
Sorry for the delay! I hope you get back to this.
Yes, it is a keyless entry system with a key fob. The system has a toggle switch for valet mode, and another little black button switch that I suspect helps get into program mode, but I am not sure. The fob will arm & dissarm the system, lock & unlock the doors. The exterior lights do not flash arming or dissarming. The factory alarm system still works also with manual door lock arming and door key dissarming.
Thanks!
I'm not familiar with that system, I'm using a Bulldog keyless entry and I had to run a wire from the light switch to the Bulldog controller, to flash my park lights.
Have you tried to contact GM regarding their product manual ??
