Either method will get it done, I use Mobil 1 synthetic (less than 2 qts required) and 1 tube of friction modifier,(Trans-X brand) some believe in using the genuine GM lubricant and 2 tubes of friction additive. Some brands of synthetic indicate no posi additive is required, I doubt it makes a lot of difference, the function of the additive is to minimize clutch chatter on turns.
Many lubes come with additive now, waste of money to add more. I use the Redline heavy shock proof and change it every other year or once a year depending on track use. I use a hand pump to remove it the pump in more.
