Hi All. I am in the middle of replacing my intake gasket because of small antifreeze leak in rear of intake. I was going to put it off but the little puddle was driving me nuts. So in the middle of pulling the fuel rails off, i had to monkey pry the injectors out of the seats. I am thinking of replacing them just because they look like hell. I thought I could just order injectors for an 86 vette...well no. How do I determin the poundage of the injectors. I didnt look at my old ones, but will they say on them? Oh by the way, replacing this gasket is do able but is a *****, especially with limited time and space.
Thanks
PS monkey pry (to remove with excessive force)
For injectors, contact Jon and Fuel Injector Connection. FICInjectors is his name here on the forum. He will hook you up with exactly what you need, for a pretty good price. I don't know of anyone he hasn't been able to leave satisfied...
Your original injectors should be Bosh type injectors and should be 22 pounders.
Ugly or not, if your car runs good, they are probably ok.
Ohm them, and if they are ok, I'd reuse them.
My 86 has 140,000 and they are going strong.
But If you want to dump them, I'll give you $45 plus shipping.
You'll also want to replace the two o-rings on your fuel rail to fuel line connections at the front of the intake. There was a thread concerning the different sized o-rings for different year L98.
