Here is what Rustoleum Hi Temp silver paint will do to a stock L98 engine. In order for the paint to adhere to the cast metal, you should use a good zinc chromate primer. Here is a photo taken last spring of my 89 engine:

superram and stock exhaust explain your mods and engine performance levels please...
Can't run long tubes in California. I changed the intake because I read that the stock plenum is too restictive. I have 1.6 RRs, a 2400 Vigilante and downsized pullys. The vert is my dd. So far my best et is 13.7. I'm not really concerned with 1/4 mile times. It's quiet, looks good and very reliable. I've been driving it for 6 years.

me too, i think my new motor is going to be overkill, it started to have a mind of it's own, and really that not what i wanted;we'll your car looks great, a real head turner, and you are right ya really don't need all that horsepower nor the planing that goes along with it, can i ask you what your gas mileage is? and who did your tune?
Really bad picture with my camera phone after the catch can install. I'll have to take some new ones. You can't see it well fom this angle but they are Edelbrock valve covers,

I averaged 25 MPG on a long trip that was mostly highway when I had the 2.73 gears. I haven't checked the mileage on the 3.07s but I'm sure it's a little lower.
I had a mail order tune from Fastchip. http://www.fastchip.com/ I wanted a Vette that was reliable, nice looking and had good streetabilty. I didn't want to spend a fortune trying to add HP. I also had to keep the Vette California smog legal.
When I bought my 88 it was bone stock. The best ET I could manage was 14.6. GM advertising claimed the 88 ran a 14.4 with a top speed of 155 MPH. So I think that running a 13.7 with a basically stock, California smog legal 88 is pretty good. I got the 13.7 with a 2.0 60. The tranny was shifting automatically at 4800 RPMs. I think with a new governor and a better 60, I can get a better ET.

Is that black wrinkle paint? Know what would look great..that paint scheme..with the raised portions and the tubes polished. As far as Proform goes..people will argue with me,but it's all chinese CRAP.They get American stuff and make crappy copies..like their intakes they ripped off from Edelbrock...casting flash..different size ports etc.
